His Grace is Sufficient!

Hello Everyone. Sorry I have not written in the last couple of days. They have been tough days, but things are getting better. I appreciate all of you who have been praying for us. God is giving me grace and strength.
Yesterday was much better. We took Bethany to the airport which was concerning to Dasha because we were not going with her. Our interpreter explained it to her and she seemed okay and gave Bethany hugs before she left. I miss having her here, but now she is on to another adventure. We had our appointment at the US Embasy and Dasha got her visa and all her paperwork for immigration. We are just about ready to go home!
We also successfully went grocery shopping. Dasha helped pick out food that she liked, which was an interesting array. I think we would eat salami and pickles for every meal if it was up to her. She is starting to say some English words. When she really wants something she will look at me with puppy dog eyes and say "please". We played UNO last night using the English words for the colors. She is teaching me Russian words as well and I have a list that I refer to. The Russian/English dictionary has come in quite handy and sometimes I just have her read the word and she helps me to pronounce it. I'm sure the language barrier is hard and probably the sourse of a lot of her frustration. Such big changes are taking place in her life. Please pray that she feels secure and that God will give her peace. Please pray for me that I will have wisdom as I deal with Dasha.
I think the man at the US Embassy was surprised that we were adopting an older child. He wanted to know if she was a sibling of one we had already adopted. I am glad we adopted an older child. She needs us and I am sure we will find that we need her. I praise God for the family He has given me!

Praying for you Cheri. You are a wonderful mom for Dasha and God has clearly placed all 6 of your children in your family for a purpose. I can't wait to meet her when she is able to come to church. Have a good trip back to MN. I know you will be so glad to get home :)

Miss you Mom. I can't wait for you to get home. I hope Dasha is doing better. I am taking good care of Abbey here at the Pattons. The Pattons got Skype connected tonight. We will try to talk to you with it tomorrow. It's 11pm right now. Sarah and I are going to watch a movie for a few minutes - I'm almost falling asleep already.
Hi Dasha! I am going to sleep while you are waking up.

Hi Cheri'

We got the crew off a little after 9pm tonight. Bethany is at the hotel room in Minneapolis already so all is well. Anjaela and Abbey are happy and fine. Sarah told me tonight she had the menus planned out for the next three days while Anjaela is here. ??? Not entirely sure at times like this who's daughter she is, 'cause I'm certainly not that organized! LOL
We keep carrying all of you in prayer and I've asked God to prompt me throughout the day/night when you need extra intercession.
Anjaela and I read your latest post together, and she thought it was funny that Dasha likes pickles so much because, "I love them too and can eat a whole jar all by myself!" We tried to call you on skype tonight but missed you. Will see if we can connect with you again sometime tomorrow. Love you - Lois P

Cheri', You just got on skype, but it is busy. Tom wanted me to get on everything I could to let you know they were not calling you on skype at 12 our time because they probably won't get to the hotel until 2am. You will probably get this message in 3 different places, but Tom wanted to make sure you got the message. Love You. I'm going to bed now and will skype you in the morning. Love you!

PS: Your post shows it was 5 something PM, instead of the 5am you were writing it.

We got to the hotel at 1:30am. Then I realized that I don't have the power cord for Tyler's computer. So no Skype right now. We will leave the hotel about 1 pm tomorrow. We should have our cord and will try to skype you then. I'm sorry that I did not think about that earlier. Your post was great!
Love, you adoring and admiring husband

Cheri - I'm not going to Skype this in case you and Dasha are sleeping. Tom called from the airport wanting to know if I had touched base with you again this afternoon. It sounds like you were able to talk a bit with them from the airport, but the computer stuff wasn't entirely cooperating? At any rate, he just wanted me to tell you again he loves you guys and is praying. It is currently 2:45pm here, and they are about to move on through the next check. They'll try to connect with you the next opportunity they have.
The girls got a blog set up for Kenya and there is a brief post up. Anjaela spent some time speaking with Bethany and said also goodbye on the phone to each one. Praying you are sleeping restfully tonight. Love - Lois
